With our presence at CUE 2026, we at InlightDesign look back with pride on an intensive and inspiring collaboration with Podiumtechniek. A collaboration that did not only begin on the exhibition floor, but took shape earlier during the joint project for the Stadsgehoorzaal and Aalmarktzaal in Leiden in the summer of 2025. In that process, InlightDesign provided the ETC eos showfiles for Podiumtechniek, where flexibility and certainly familiarity were central. This pragmatic and trustful way of working proved to be effective not only for Leiden, but now also for the CUE.
The build-up of CUE, from 8th to 11th January, beautifully reflected this. What started with a completely empty floor gradually transformed into a beautiful and well-thought-out exhibition stand. From hanging and testing the fixtures, fine-tuning the show file to hanging the Podiumtechniek logo and the final technical checks of all equipment. Everything was carefully planned with attention to every small detail. On Sunday, everything came together when the suppliers JB Lighting, SRS, HOF, Aluvation, and Coemar arrived, and after they had set up their equipment, they could also start enjoying it..
A key part of InlightDesign's role during CUE was to provide an explanation of the system rack, a faithful one-to-one replica of the setup that had previously been realised in the Stadsgehoorzaal Leiden and the Oude Luxor in Rotterdam. Everything came together in this cabinet: from the fibre optic connections and the VLAN-toolbox to the SRS dimmers and the ETC Puck with the developed showfile. By guiding visitors step by step through the construction and operation of the system, it became clear how all the components do not function independently, but rather as one integrated whole. This allowed for a practical demonstration of how the showfile, infrastructure, and hardware reinforce each other and together ensure a stable and flexible system..
At the trade fair, we also demonstrated the operation of the DMX merge (conversion from controlling conventional fixtures to multiparameter fixtures) live by connecting a Compulite Spark to the ETC system rack, which controlled the dimmer channels of the JB Lighting P10, P15, and M18 through the Compulite. This setup showed how you can still maintain control over the lights in the same way with familiar equipment without compromising on clarity or creativity. For us, this is proof that all methods of control can work neatly and reliably with today's (network) systems..
And of course, the system cabinet is FENT compliant! 😉
We thank Podiumtechniek for their trust and the pleasant collaboration, and all the visitors for their interest and enjoyable conversations. We certainly hope to carry out even more beautiful projects with them in the future.!
